This kitchen is part of a 1960s mid-century home that has a lot of style in its own right. The existing kitchen, however, was cramped and dark, and isolated from the rest of the house.
The new, lighter and brighter kitchen adds multiple windows and doors to create a strong connection to the back yard and patio. The existing pass-through to the dining area was widened to create a functional buffet area, while allowing the kitchen to retain an identity as its own space. Natural-finish birch cabinets reflect all the newly available daylight.
